Lesson 1: A review of Educational Technology I

Educational Technology I showed the four phases of application of educational technology in teaching-and-learning namely:
1.       Setting of Learning Objectives
2.       Designing specific learning experiences
3.       Evaluating the effectiveness of the learning experiences vis-ẚ-vis the learning objectives
4.       Revision as needed of the whole teaching- learning process, or elements of it, for further improving future instructional activities.

In sum, educational technology I served to uplift and impart human skills and learning through the use of learning and applying technology.

LEARNING OUTCOMES OF ET I:

REFLECTION
1.       Discuss the disparity in educational technology advancement in schools of industrialized First World Country (such as the U.S., Japan, Singapore, Australia) and a still developing country, namely the Philippines.
v  In many developing countries where computers and access to the internet are limited, this develop countries can use more technology because it can easily accessed by many people than in the industrialized first world country.
2.       Given the lack of resources in our rural areas in the Philippines, what media can still be used for effective learning in school? (clue: traditional media)
v  The other media that can still use for effective learning in schools are radio and TV.
3.       Computer shops are pervasive around schools, but these are mainly used for playing games. Without judging on the possibly dehumanizing effects of excessive computer game habits, how can a learner best use computer resources as they may be available in schools or at home?
v  A learner can best use computers like paying educational games in which he can get such new information and experience. And when this new information is being applied and enriched, a learner now can use this information in schools and in at home.
