LESSON 5: STATE OF-THE-ART ET APPLICATION PRACTICES


 This lesson talks about the recent changes occurred in the area of pedagogical theory and practice of Educational Technology. Wherein, the trends and new levels of learning require the appropriate use of state-of-the art instruction with the use of IT, tapping the computer’s information and communication tools (such as, word processors, databases, spreadsheets, presentation software, email, Internet conferencing, etc.). Moreover, it also tackles the obstacles to IT pedagogical practice especially for educators living in developing or peasant economies. Wherein, objections are likely to be heard such as that the use of computer is time consuming and expensive. Along the danger of a technology-centered classroom with the fear that computer may soon replace teachers. Lastly, the systematic instructional planning process is presented in the lesson.

1.  What do you say to educators who say technology in teaching takes time and is expensive?
  • This educators who say technology in teaching takes time and is expensive doesn't aware of higher level of learning. Even though they can do something to upgrade the level of learning within the class, they just depend on let we say the traditional instructions. Moreover, technology in teaching doesn't takes time nor expensive as long as it helps in developing the skills and knowledge of learners.
2. What can you say about teachers who use media simply to make classes entertaining and fun?
  • Teachers like this are teachers who has a professional attitude because he/ she doesn't let his/ her students to got bored in class. Because if students are happy and not boring in class, they will find learning more fun. And besides technology or media is one tool to encourage learners to interact in learning.
3. Comment on the opinion that ET - supported instruction is difficult to assess?


4. What could future learners have as an advantage over present - day learners?
